JTM website team

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, Rose n me were summoned to the HQ for some editing work. Turned out we had to translate as well. Well, that's work...

On the first day, a few big shots peeked in, like Tuan Syed Md. Nor. Got some work done, so, we left around 4.30 - J.Sham picked me up (I went with Rose earlier). Ijad, the new PAR from Kedah rode along as he had to deliver some letters to KSM.

Shukur, Halina, Zawawi, Rose & me

The second day was quite taxing, as we were aware of the time to upload n publish the web was at 12pm. Everyone was tense, especially since En Romli himself took a peek into the room around 10 a.m. (He told us to eat our breakfast as well, so we stopped for some nasi lemak brought in by the cafe staff.)

At 12, it was published. Immediately, we saw the number of visitors jumped from 2-5 to 40++. 'Gosh, the staff and bosses are checking us out!!!'- chimed Zawawi. It was cold, but I think the IT guys were sweating. As there were still some errors here n there, everyone was engrossed in the notebooks in fron of us. During lunch hour, everyone seemed glued to their seats. At the end of lunch hour, no one had budged. I voiced out loud, "Wah, we're sooooo focused and hardworking today, even forego lunch, but none of the bosses witness this! just our luck!" What to do, kerja mesti ikhlas...

We only left our tasks for prayers. Luckily, tea came in around three. Except for Hazrin, who claims that the mihun seems oily, the rest of us, Shukir, Halina, Zawawi, Rose n me were famished and we devoured it quickly. Lapar!!!

En Rustam, the PIC was not around, and we could have left earlier. But all of the committed people from the team only left well after 3.30. Well done, team!

Promotion at Concorde, Shah Alam

Yesterday, I was at the hotel for a promotional activity by JTM. The event was put-together by PSMB, a KSM arm, and was quite a success, judging by the turn-out and response from participants.

The talk I love most was the Communication segment by Jackson Ng, one of the country's best speakers. Hm, he managed to put some fresh ideas into the participants, though I'm familiar with all of them (from jokes and self-help articles I read on the net), seeing them in action, and enjoyed by the participants was something else altogether.

The booth was manned by the HQ staff like Yati, Hazim n... hm, forgot his name... from ADTEC, there were Mira, Zura n me... We were in familiar territory, for right in front of our booth was ILPKL's, and right next to it was JTK. Behind us was PTPKN, next to it was CIAST, well.. pretty familiar people... even met Yati of JPK. It's booth was quite far away, but.. familiar faces...

The best part was (of course!) the souvenir-huntingg from the other booths, and the best ones have to be the bright-orange umbrella from leanapplied, and the book mark from ILPKL. I was at leanapplied earlier, but didn't get any umb. so, when I saw Hazim n others came back with it, Mira, Zura n me dashed over quickly. Guess what? even En Zuraka was hot on our heels...

So, it was kinda happy day for ereyone. Mission accomplished, even managed to strike some friendship with Yati (hq), Amy n Yat (ilpkl) n even Keane from MIT. That reminds me, I have to email him!

Time to reflect

The month of November is almost halfway through... there seems a lack of activity on my blog, but, it does not mean that I've been idle- far from it! Be it personal or worklife, there's so much happening! It's just that I'm not in the mood to take pictures... hence, without the photogs, blogging is not that interesting...

Some weeks back, we had a hari raya gathering graced by none other than the Deputy Minister, Dato' Noraini. The food was quite ok (but many complained of diarrhea the day after). There was a really touching moment when the invited orphans rendered a thoroughly heart-tugging song. A lot of those in the audience were reduced to tears.
There were canopies for the event...

Here I was with Uji, Dila, Azua n Fadilah waiting for makan time...

Other colleagues...

The orphans singing their heart out... it still bring tears to my eyes when I recall their singing on that blessed afternoon...

Some hampers for the beautiful kids...

Dato' heading home... dang! I forgot to snap photos of her dashing PA again!

Then, last Saturday, I played a part in 'history', when 28 ADTEC students sat for the first ever MUET ever held on our campus. As pusat MB184, the candidates first sat for their speaking test on Tuesday, 4/11. The best part was, some students were lucky as a lot of what we discussed the previous day came out! For the 1st session, about 30% was there, while for the 2nd session, almost 80%! I can't imagine their excitement when they first laid their eyes on the question paper. Held at our library, most of them turned up in time, attired in what I told them to - collared Ts/shirt for the boys, and decent blouses for the girls - aren't I proud of them! The bad thing was, I forgot to take photos! and... one of them, Lim, could not make it. Called him like 7,8 x, but no answer!

Anyway, it started on time at 8, and ended at 12.30. The 3 invigilators were from SMK Sek 16 Shah Alam - Pn Hawa, Pn Liza and Pn Ng. Thanks a lot to them! We had a nice lunch afterwards... I also owe a lot of thanks to Pn Zuraidah n En Zainal from Jabatan Pelajaran Selangor (JPS - many of my colleagues thought it is Jab Parit & Saliran) who helped me make it possible.

I truly hope that more ADTEC students would sit for the exam next year!
